Visoluten

Visoluten represents the foremost Cytomax bioregulator designed strictly for retinal and ocular preservation. Extracted from the comprehensive eye tissues of young animals, it is heavily relied upon to halt devastating macular degeneration, fiercely defend against glaucomatous nerve damage, and fundamentally reverse age-related deterioration of visual acuity.

Mechanism of Action

Visoluten (A-11) is a Cytomax natural polypeptide extract from the retinal and choroidal tissues of young calves, targeting human photoreceptors (rods and cones), retinal pigment epithelium (RPE), and Müller glia to restore age-silenced gene expression governing visual signal transduction, photoreceptor renewal, and RPE-mediated outer segment phagocytosis. The retina is the most metabolically active tissue in the body per gram of tissue — it has the highest oxygen consumption rate of any organ and is therefore extremely vulnerable to age-related oxidative stress and vascular compromise.

Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) — the leading cause of irreversible vision loss in adults over 50 — involves progressive dysfunction and death of RPE cells underneath the fovea, with subsequent loss of cone photoreceptors responsible for central vision. Visoluten delivers short peptide signals (<10 kDa) from bovine retinal tissue that enter RPE and photoreceptor nuclei to reactivate: PEDF (pigment epithelium-derived factor, a neuroprotective and anti-angiogenic protein produced by RPE), rhodopsin (the photopigment of rod photoreceptors), CRALBP (cellular retinaldehyde-binding protein for visual cycle maintenance), and RPE65 (the critical isomerase in the visual cycle converting all-trans retinyl ester to 11-cis retinol for photoreceptor regeneration).

Visoluten addresses retinal aging at the gene expression level — not through antioxidant supplementation (lutein, zeaxanthin) or anti-VEGF injections. It is used alongside Normoftal (Lys-Glu synthetic dipeptide targeting the same tissue via a different mechanism) in Khavinson's ocular longevity protocols.

Background & History

Visoluten is the retinal/eye Cytomax extract, supporting photoreceptor and ganglion cell function.

Research Use Cases

  • Retinal health
  • Visual decline prevention
  • Glaucoma support

Dosing Protocol

Typical Dose1-2 capsules/day
Frequency1-2× daily for 10-30 day cycles
Half-Life~30 minutes (estimated)

Dosing Protocols

Mini-Course / General Preventive (1 box)

Dose
2 capsules (20 mg)
Frequency
Once daily for 10 days, 30 min before meals
Note: Standard Khavinson mini-course (20 caps). Repeat every 6 months from age 45. Combine with Normoftal (Lys-Glu synthetic) for the complete retinal protection protocol.

Full Monthly Course (AMD / Retinal Aging)

Dose
2 capsules (20 mg)
Frequency
Twice daily for 30 days (120 caps = 2× 60-cap boxes)
Note: Bi-annual 30-day courses for dry AMD (stages 1–3), diabetic retinopathy risk, or significant age-related vision decline. Core ocular stack: Visoluten (A-11) + Normoftal + Ventfort (A-3, retinal microvascular health).

Intensive / Retinal Restoration Protocol

Dose
2 capsules (20 mg)
Frequency
Twice daily, repeated monthly
Note: Active AMD, significant retinal function decline, or diabetic retinopathy management support. Ophthalmologist supervision required. Not a replacement for anti-VEGF therapy in wet AMD. Max: 4 caps/day (40 mg).

Administration

Route
Oral capsules (20-cap and 60-cap boxes)
Timing
30 minutes before meals. Morning + evening for intensive courses.
Fasting Required?
Yes — inject on an empty stomach

Expected Timeline

Days 1—14
RPE and photoreceptor gene expression restoration initiated. Visual processing speed improvement may begin.
Month 1–3
Improved contrast sensitivity and dark adaptation. Reduced visual fatigue in screen-heavy users.
Month 3–6
Sustained retinal cell integrity support. Stabilization of drusen accumulation rate in AMD management alongside conventional care.

Who Is It For?

AMD / Retinal Aging (Ages 50+)

Low

Restores RPE gene expression for PEDF, RPE65, and CRALBP — the foundational proteins of the visual cycle and photoreceptor maintenance.

Diabetic Retinopathy Prevention

Low

Used in metabolic disease protocols alongside Suprefort (A-1, pancreas) + Ventfort (A-3, blood vessels) to address both the metabolic and retinal aspects of diabetic eye disease.

Safety & Considerations

Frequently Asked Questions

How is Visoluten different from lutein/zeaxanthin supplements?
Lutein and zeaxanthin are dietary antioxidants that filter high-energy blue light and neutralize oxidative damage in the macula. Visoluten works at the gene transcription level — it reactivates RPE65, CRALBP, and PEDF production in your existing retinal cells, restoring the visual cycle machinery itself rather than providing antioxidant protection.
Can Visoluten be used for dry AMD?
Visoluten is used in Khavinson's ocular longevity system as complementary care alongside AREDS2-formulation supplements and ophthalmology monitoring. It is not a cure for AMD. In early-to-intermediate dry AMD, it targets the RPE gene expression pathways that support photoreceptor maintenance. Always coordinate with your retinal specialist.
