Regulatory status

Enclomiphene is not FDA-approved. Online clinics supply it as a compounded medication, made by a pharmacy for one prescription; compounded drugs are not reviewed by FDA for safety, effectiveness or quality before they are dispensed. It is not a controlled substance.

No FDA-approved sermorelin product is sold in the US. The brand Geref was discontinued in 2008, and FDA later determined it was not withdrawn for safety or effectiveness reasons. Sermorelin sold by telehealth clinics is compounded and not FDA-approved.

FDA-approved estradiol and progesterone come as pills, patches, gels, sprays and vaginal forms. Compounded "bioidentical" hormones are not FDA-approved. In November 2025 FDA began removing most boxed-warning language from menopausal hormone therapy labels; the endometrial-cancer warning stays on systemic estrogen-alone products.
